Take to the air for a fantastic view of the wide, open landscapes of the National Parks, Britain’s breathing spaces.
A hot air balloon will give you an amazing aerial view of the National Park scenery passing below. Drifting where the wind takes you, the balloon basket provides a stable platform for photography, and your peaceful progress won't disturb the wildlife below you, so remember to take your camera! A balloon ride is a great way to celebrate a special occasion or just to make the most of your visit to a National Park, either way it will certainly be high-light.
Airborne adrenaline
For the more adventurous, paragliding, hang-gliding, microlighting and gliding offer a burst of adrenaline as you swoop through the skies. There are many centres and clubs where you can try a taster session or sign up for a course. The uplands of the Brecon Beacons, Cairngorms, Dartmoor, the Lake District, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Northumberland, North York Moors, Peak District, Snowdonia and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks, all provide plenty of hills for take-offs and stunning views from the air.
