National Park Authorities are statutory planning authorities, responsible for granting planning permissions for changes in building and land use or new buildings.
Planning in National Parks is a careful balancing act. We have to meet the needs of those who live, visit and work in each National Park now, and protect these areas for the future. We have to make sure the plants, animals, wildlife, unique landscape and fascinating buildings are not lost to the next generation.
