Activity aims:

A case study of the effects of visitor pressure in the popular White Moss Common area of the Lake District.

Faced with the challenge of a busy site, pupils explore the effectiveness of management strategies through fieldwork techniques and observation. This includes carrying out landscape evaluations, completing a mapping exercise to identify management facilities and investigating traffic impacts and management.

Can be combined with a study of Bowness on Windermere to make a full day.
