Natural Environment White Paper

The first Natural Environment White Paper for 20 years was published by the Government on 7th June. England’s National Parks warmly welcome the White Paper. National Parks and National Park Authorities are already delivering in many of the ways identified in the White Paper and we look forward to working with partners at national and local level to make the aspirations of the White Paper a reality.

Supporting the White Paper is the recently published National Ecosystem Assessment, which for the first time provides values for a range of ecosystem services to help us more fully understand the value of the natural environment and how the benefits to individuals and society as a whole can be better protected and preserved for future generations. Details of the NEA are available from the Defra website or the NEA website.
